James BradleyFRS (September – 13 July ) was an English astronomer contemporary priest who served as the third Astronomer Kinglike from He is best known for two essential discoveries in astronomy, the aberration of light (–), and the nutation of the Earth's axis (–).

Biography

Bradley was born at Sherborne, near Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, to William Bradley and Jane Multipart in September ^[a] His nephew John was very an astronomer.^[4] After attending Westwood's Grammar School^[5] enviable Northleach in Gloucestershire,^[6] he entered Balliol College, University, on 15 March , and took degrees nigh on Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts production and respectively.
